AHA Enzymatic Peel

An enzyme peel is a blend of natural fruit ingredients (enzymes) and is one of the gentlest methods of exfoliation. Enzyme face peels remove top layers of skin to exfoliate and expedite cell turnover, leading to a fresher, more glowing skin.

The procedures are used worldwide to treat skin problems such as wrinkles and lines, acne scars, hyper-pigmentation, and sun damage. Enzyme skin peels do not contain acids, therefore they leave the skin pH balanced.

What is an AHA Enzymatic Peel?

Let’s be honest — the word “chemical peel” has scared off more people than it should.
We’ve all seen the horror stories: red, raw faces and visible peeling for days on end.
But that’s not the story with AHA Enzymatic Peels.

An AHA Enzymatic Peel is a cosmetic grade peel that combines
chemical exfoliation from gentle AHAs with natural enzyme exfoliation.
Together, they dissolve and digest dead skin cells on the outermost layer of the skin surface,
accelerating cell turnover, smoothing textured skin, and restoring an even-toned appearance.

Key Ingredients:

  • Lactic Acid – Hydrating and barrier-friendly, great for dry and sensitive skin
  • Glycolic Acid – Excellent for refining skin texture, enlarged pores, and acne scars
  • L-Mandelic AcidAnti-bacterial, brightening, and safe for darker skin tones
  • Pumpkin enzymes – Rich in amino acids, antioxidants, and essential minerals
  • Pineapple & Papaya enzymes – Naturally exfoliate the skin surface without irritation

These peels can be used as a standalone treatment or in combination with other
Professional Skin Treatments, such as LED therapy, collagen-stimulating needling,
or cosmetic injectables (observing proper interval between treatments).

Here’s what you can expect from regular sessions:

Glowing Skin Without Trauma

Say goodbye to manual exfoliation and hello to Enzyme exfoliation that resurfaces skin gently.
You’ll notice smoother texture and brighter skin appearance within days.

Boosted Cell Turnover & Regeneration

By stimulating the upper layer and promoting basal layer activity, these peels enhance your skin’s
healing process, supporting collagen production, elastin production, and
healthy skin regeneration.

Suits All Skin Types and Concerns

Including anti-ageing skin types, acne-prone skin, congested skin, oily skin,
dry skin, and those with visible signs of sun damage, pigmentation, or
uneven skin tone.

Supports Barrier Health & Product Penetration

By clearing away dead skin from the surface layer, it improves active product absorption
and increases the effectiveness of high-performance cosmeceutical skincare products.

Targets Pigmentation & Pore Concerns

This includes stubborn pigmentation, appearance of pores, and size of scars
(especially fresh scars) by resurfacing the deeper layers over time.

An AHA Enzymatic Peel is a common treatment suitable for most people with:

  • Lacklustre skin needing a refresh
  • Congested or acne-prone skin
  • Age spots, pigmentation, or capillary damage
  • Sensitive skin that can’t tolerate abrasive scrubs
  • Clients with darker skin tones seeking safe chemical solutions
  • Anyone prepping for cosmetic procedures, cosmetic tattoos, or cosmetic injections

Contraindications — enzyme/AHA peels are not recommended for clients with:

  • Pregnant individuals (unless cleared by a medical professional)
  • Broken or inflamed skin
  • Recent use of retinoic-acid peels, cosmetic injectables, or Laser Treatments
  • Facial hair removal via depilatory cream, waxing, or threading in the 5–7 days prior

Results aren’t about one magical appointment — they’re about consistency and the right cycle.

General Guidelines:

  • Mild concerns / maintenance: Every 4–6 weeks
  • Active concerns (e.g. acne, pigmentation): 4–8 treatments at weekly intervals
  • Ageing and sun damage: Every 6–8 weeks, combined with Vitamin A and anti-inflammatory components

Most clients are placed on a personalised treatment plan after a complimentary skin consultation to determine
the type of peel used, current treatment programs, and days post-peel support needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Not necessarily. Most clients experience slight peeling or flaking 2–5 days post-peel, especially if it’s their first time or if their skin is dehydrated. However, unlike deeper chemical peels, Enzymatic Peels often work subtly on the outermost layer with minimal downtime.
Yes. Unlike some invasive treatments that can trigger post-inflammatory pigmentation, properly formulated AHA enzyme peels with L-Mandelic Acid or Lactic Acid are safe for darker skin tones.
In the 5–7 days prior, avoid retinoic acid, facial hair removal, exfoliating active products, and direct sun exposure. Use gentle products only, and do not book in if your skin is broken or wet from treatments like dermaplaning.
Post-treatment, your skin may feel slightly warm or tight. You might notice slight swelling, mild redness, or light peeling depending on the type of peel used. Avoid sun, sweating, and heavy actives for at least 72 hours.
Most clients benefit from a course of 4–8 treatments at monthly intervals or 6–8 week intervals, depending on their skin condition, ageing concerns, and treatment goals.
